Travel: Paris, France
Paris has always felt kind of like a daydream to me. The kind of place that felt a little bit untouchable because of all the magic. It felt like the kind of place that you could only capture from afar. I had been there once when I was 15 years old but the memory of it was hazy. I remember moments and snippets. A hilarious story about a random restaurant we found when we were hungry. Feeling so out of place walking through Galeries Lafayette. Buying a purple bag from H&M that I wore to death. But this was going to be the first time that I was coming back to Paris as an adult. With fresh eyes and a different kind of perspective on it. I travel mainly to take pictures, eat and wander around as much as possible. So I like to plan trips based on places I want to go and eat at. So I go where my stomach leads, which is very on-brand for me if you know me well. So I stalked Instagram like a woman on a mission. Finding cute cafes around the hotel, trying to find them all on the map so that I could cluster them all together for the day. Because I was travelling alone, my goal was to travel further during the day and then find somewhere close to the hotel to have dinner. Which was a new experience. Eating dinner by myself. I am normally really good on my own, but for some reason, dinner alone felt a bit strange in my head. So I overcame it by romanticising it. A glass of wine, a nice meal and a good book? What more could you ask for in the City of Love.
